At the Vineyard, prayer ministry is one of our most important and
blessed opportunities. In prayer we bring a brother or a sister
before God's throne of grace and what a blessing to be able to stand
there with them!
On Sundays at the Vineyard,
during worship, a group of people can be seen in the front of the
room gathering around those who have come forward for prayer. This
"prayer-ministry team" only exists as such on Sunday morning.
It consists of men and women trained to listen to a person's needs,
listen to God, and minister God's grace and healing. When we invite
people forward to pray in this way, we invite those who have been
trained because we want people who have never come asking for prayer
to know that they can expect sensitivity, confidentiality, and a
certain capability. All are invited to be trained in this way and
we believe each one of us is called and empowered to pray for others.
The work of prayer is ongoing though, and each one of us will have
opportunities to pray throughout the week; no training is needed
to jump right in and offer prayer to a friend who is carrying some
burden.
