Prayer Ministry Training

We believe God answers prayer. We believe God can heal the sick. We believe Jesus has called us to participate in His ministry of healing. But when it comes to praying for others we can sometimes feel weak and inadequate.

Two to three times a year, we offer a “hands on” instruction class (called "Power Healing" after John Wimber's book of that name) for those who want to become more effective in prayer ministry. This class is not for skeptics, but for those who believe God uses the prayers of the saints to equip and heal others, and want to become effective in prayer. Even if you have been trained in another church, or if you have taken this class before, this is a great way to re-sharpen your skills and increase your faith for prayer ministry.

Each Sunday those who have completed our training have a chance to pray for another who has been moved by God in some way--to confess a wrong, or to commit to a life change--and to minister God's grace to that person.

On the third Sunday of the month, in our Sunday services, we follow Jesus' example in the Scriptures by praying for those who need physical healing. The sick are invited to come forward at the end of the service to receive healing prayer.

We are witnesses that Jesus stills heals today through the power of prayer, and we would love to share this great ministry with you. If you have questions about prayer ministry, or about when the next class is offered, please call the church office at 650-327-5727 for more information.

James 5:14 Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.
