Welcome
The Vineyard Christian Fellowship of the
Peninsula is a part of The
Vineyard, an amazing community of Christian churches around
the world that are all about spreading the great story of Jesus
Christ by words and deeds. We meet weekly to worship and experience
God on Sunday mornings. Sermons are available
online, and if you'd like to see what's happening in the church,
you can view the church calendar and weekly
events listing. Come and join us!

Learning to Pray
for Others Sermon Series
The ministry of praying for others is central to the ministry of
Jesus, a component of all we do and a mark of the kingdom life that
God desires for us. For the next ten weeks, starting Sunday, July
6, we'll be exploring many of the elements of this vital ministry.
This series will enable those who are already engaged in praying
for others to do so with even greater effectiveness, and be a source
of encouragement to those who are beginning to learn about prayer
and are excited about being trained to pray for others.

one way to practice Godly compassion: our jail
ministry is an opportunity to extend God's love to inmates in
Santa Clara county. Read the testimony
of one woman's experience ministering in the jail: "The ones
that come to the service are eager to "feel" our Lord touching them.
It is a blessing to me to be able to share this desire with them
- that's all I did. I didn't preach or cajole or convince them of
anything - just re-affirmed that Jesus is with them, that God has
not abandoned them, that He loves them. How much easier could it
be? ..."
Aid for Myanmar
and China
Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar (Burma) on May 3. A number of aid
agencies are seeking to assist the areas that have been affected.
We've contacted Vineyard USA Missions to ask advice on how best
to participate. They recommend Medical Assistance Programs (MAP)
because of their relationship with the Vineyard. They provide emergency
supplies such as blankets, plastic sheeting, nutritional inputs,
water, emergency medicines, as well as ongoing recovery efforts.
Make donations through their Website: www.map.org.
On May 12, China suffered
a major earthquake, registering a magnitude of 7.9. We have worked
with World Vision in the past for different relief efforts and recommend
them again. Make donations through www.worldvision.org.
Whether or not we choose to give financial aid, please pray for
Myanmar and China as they deal with the aftermath of these horrible
events.
