living waters

Living Waters is an in-depth, Christ-centered program for people seeking healing in areas of sexual and relational brokenness. A healing, teaching and discipleship series, Living Waters addresses the reality that we are all broken in our ability to love others well. The goal of Living Waters is to lay a foundation for sexual and relational wholeness in our lives. The program lasts for 30 weeks and is offered once a year.

If you have questions about the program or the application process, please call the church office. You can also find out more information about the Living Waters program at the national level here.

prayer ministry

We believe God answers prayer. We believe God can heal the sick. We believe Jesus has called us to His ministry of healing. But when it comes to pray for others we can sometimes feel weak and inadequate.

Two to three times a year, we offer a “hands on” instruction class for those who want to become more effective in prayer ministry. This class is not for skeptics, but for those who believe God uses the prayers of the saints to equip and heal others, but don’t know how to do it. Even for those who have taken this class before, this is a great way to re-sharpen one’s skills and increase one’s faith for prayer ministry.

If you have questions about when the next power healing class is offered, please call the church office for more information.

prayer for the physically sick

Once a month, in our Sunday services, we follow Jesus' example in the Scriptures by praying for the physically sick. The sick are invited to come forward to have someone pray for their healing. We are witnesses that Jesus stills heals today through the power of prayer.

Check the church bulletin to find out when we will be praying next.

lampstand recovery ministries

You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” Psalm 18:28

Lampstand Recovery Ministries focuses on educating, equipping and administering healing to those who are hurting from codependency issues, addictions (compulsive behaviors), relational brokenness and difficult life experiences (current and past). Through the love, compassion and mercy of Christ, we ask Him to shine His light on the darkness in our lives as we walk through the recovery process in a safe, supportive and caring environment. This process allows us to seek biblical truths to the underlying hurts that drive our unhealthy and dysfunctional behaviors, in order to rebuild our lives and to receive God's love and love from others.

Twice a year we offer a Christ-centered Codependency* Recovery Workshop. See below for the next offering.

-Codependency Recovery Workshop

This is a Christ-centered Codependency Recovery Workshop that helps raise awareness of our compulsive behaviors, our need to control, and our desire to receive acceptance and self-worth from others instead of from God. Through interactive teaching, group discussion and prayer, you will discover how to become more emotionally balanced in your circumstances, make better choices in relationships, and draw closer to God as you seek healing. The next workshop begins May 29, 2007 and runs for 12 weeks. Please contact Philippa at 650.327.5727 for more information or to sign up.

* What is codependency?

Codependency is an unhealthy emotional or relational response to a circumstance or relationship. It cripples relationships because we base our value and worth on the actions or behaviors of others, sometimes feeling hostage to their moods and behaviors. In our insecurity, we may want to rescue or control the person or situation. With this continual instability, codependence can fuel addictions like food, alcohol, drugs, gambling or excessive spending.
