Baby/Child Dedication Information

This Sunday morning ceremony is a public demonstration of parents' faith and commitment to raise a child in Jesus Christ.

At VCFP, we do not baptize infants, as do some denominations and traditions. Instead, we dedicate children to the Lord and call parents to commit themselves to raise them for Christ. We do this based on the model seen in scripture of children being dedicated to the Lord: Samuel in the Old Testament (1 Samuel 1:21-29) and Jesus in the New Testament (Luke 2:21-24).

Baby and child dedications are also a great opportunity to invite the whole church family to join and support parents in this commitment. Baby and child dedications are scheduled on a quarterly basis and parents are invited to contact the church office (650) 327-5727 for the next available date.

Please download the PDFs for more information.
